Housing aid
By renting one of our social housing units, you can apply for student housing assistance from the Caisse des Allocations Familiales (CAF). In accordance with our current agreement with this institution, we, as landlord, receive directly the amount of aid allocated to you in order to reduce the remainder of the rent you must pay. Consequently, the housing benefit is not paid to you.
All applications for housing benefit are made directly on the CAF website (click here), which also allows you to estimate the amount of aid that may be granted to you (click here), depending on your resources.
The allocation of student housing benefit depends on your own resources, not those of your parents, even if you are attached to your parents' tax household. If your parents are subject to the Impôt sur la Fortune Immobilière (IFI), you will not be able to receive housing benefit, unless you are not attached to your parents' tax household.
You should apply for housing benefit immediately after you move in. Within a few days of moving in, we will email you a completed rent certificate to attach to your online application. Please note that the first month of your tenancy is a waiting month for which you will not receive housing benefit. For example, if you apply in September, you will only receive housing benefit from the October rent.
